Jan 27: The Phoenix Art Museum's Going Once! art auction and fundraising gala features a work by Bryan along with pieces by Eric Fischl, Kehinde Wiley, Erica Deeman, Patricia Sannit, and more. Dec 17: "Griffith's exhibition prompted reflection on the role human choices play before, during, and after a wide variety of events typically dubbed natural disasters. But it also demonstrated that tragedy can give birth to beauty and resilience." Lynn Trimble names Rethinking Fire one of metro Phoenix's top 10 art exhibitions of 2017 in the Phoenix New Times. May 28: The Albuquerque Journal interviews Bryan about "Fires of Change" at 516 ARTS, on view until July 22. Apr 28: Arizona Citizens for the Arts has commissioned Bryan to create a new work for the 2017 Governor's Art Awards at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale. Apr 1: "A breathtaking commentary on human interference with nature...", critic Deborah Ross reviews Bryan's show "Rethinking Fire" at the Mesa Contemporary Art Museum for Visual Art Source. Mar 8: Lynn Trimble includes Bryan's show "Rethinking Fire" in the Phoenix New Times article "You Need to See these 10 Spring Art Shows in Metro Phoenix. Dec 15: AZ Lifestyle features Bryan as one of "Three Must Know Artists" in an 8-page article by Amy Young in the December issue. Nov 11: Bryan is now represented by Bentley Gallery, one of Phoenix's leading contemporary galleries, "representing mid-career and museum-collected artists from the US and Europe for over 30 years." Nov 1: The December 2016 cover of Black & White, features "Bryan David Griffith: Searching Within", a 10-page article by Lorraine Anne Davis. Available at bookstores and newsstands nationally until mid-December. Oct 28: The City of Portland, Oregon has aquired one of Bryan's photographs for its permanent collection, the Visual Chronicle of Portland. Sep 18: Seth Muller's review "Griffith: Speaking Volumes", headlines the Arts and Living section of the Arizona Daily Sun. May 16: Bryan is the featured artist this week on Art Photo Index. May 11: The Phoenix Art Museum has awarded Bryan one of five 2016 Contemporary Forum Artist Grants, as reported in the Phoenix New Times. Apr 15: Bryan has been named one of 7 finalists to receive a $5000 grant and advance to the final round of the Arrow Electronics Five Years Out Art Challenge in Denver this summer. Mar 5: The Flagstaff Arts Council has announced Bryan as the winner of the 2016 Viola Award for Excellence in the Visual Arts at this year's Viola Awards Gala, a record-setting fundraiser for the arts at the High Country Conference Center.
